Soft Landing Stables has several show horses who occasionally come available for on-farm half-leases.  The half-leases cost  $250-300/mo. depending on which horse is leased. That includes the right to ride up to 3x per week and attend local shows with our friendly, supportive group of hunter show riders.  These are not lesson horses.  They do not have typical lesson horse bad habits.  We do, however, recommend that lessees take lessons with one of our trainers at Soft Landing.
As of August, 2010, all our horses are leased.  Please get in touch only if you are a serious 3' show hunter rider who would like to be added to our wait list.

Soft Landing's Geronimo, known as G-man around the barn, is a busy, busy man.  This loving, beautifully-marked 17' tricolor tobiano paint/TB is currently leased by Carol and by Miranda. Welcome, Carol and we look forward to getting to know you better.

Geronimo literally has dozens of championships to his name in the hunter and jumper rings including wins at Blue Rock in Pa., qualification for Local Day at the Washington International, qualification for the Gittings finals, etc.  Now, he is a pleasure horse and confidence-builder.

Miranda was Reserve Champ on Geronimo at the April SMHA horse show at the Prince George's Equestrian Center and Champion at the SMHA Horse Show in May.
We are losing Miranda to her home state of Texas in the fall and will miss her terribly but wish her all the best with her new horse in Texas!  Go Miranda!

SOFT LANDING'S DANCING MAN (barn name, Fred) Welcome, Gaby! We are so thrilled you are now part of our team.

Fred excels at hunter pleasure and in the jumper ring.  He is extremely limber and flexible, honest to fences and brave!!! He was named "Dancing Man" after Fred Astaire (Dancing Man was one of Astaire's nicknames) because Fred's movement is so, so fancy.  This picture shows him being ridden in the hunter pleasure division at Frying Pan Park in summer, 2009 where he was Reserve Champion out of 10 horses.  The video below shows him being ridden at the trot (rider's choice) over a course of 2' fences.

Zack, show name, "Soft Landing's Markedly" has been part of a team with Kelly for the better part of two years.  But we are sadly losing Kelly to college in August.  Zack now begins bonding with Catherine whom we look forward to getting to know better and who will be taking Zack to shows with us soon.  A fond send-off to Kelley and a warm welcome to Catherine!

Soft Landing's The Professional has scores of championships and reserve championships to his name at local and rated hunter shows.  We are so proud Chelsea is showing him in the Hunter ring.
